Stopping Abuse and Female Exploitation (SAFE) Zimbabwe Technical Assistance Facility

Whilst anecdotal reports suggested that incidence of VAWG was increasing in Zimbabwe in line with the evidence from other countries, no data was available to corroborate this trend. This study therefore sought to collect and analyse service-based data from five NGOs providing gender-based violence response services to women and girls, in order to contribute to the ongoing synthesis of VAWG data in Zimbabwe in the context of COVID-19. This report was commissioned by the Women’s Coalition of Zimbabwe (WCoZ) to support advocacy efforts for the prevention of violence and strengthening of responses to VAWG. This study does not measure the prevalence of GBV at population-level, but analyses and compare the data available from five NGOs providing GBV services over six months.
